An Indian venu flute and several Native American plains flutes, complemented by ambiences, pads, synths and atmospheres crafted from the flute recordings.

The venu was recorded dry in the studio; the instrument sampled here is unusual in having seven holes and being carved from rosewood rather than bamboo, which gives it a warmer, fuller sound, and it is tuned to C minor. The plains flutes, carved from walnut and cedar in D minor and G minor, sound mellower and darker yet can produce powerful trills, overtones and chirps; they were recorded in a large, open hall with natural reverb. Normal, trill and overtone sustains and staccatos, live performance phrases with transposition, tempo sync and time-stretching, and a phrase sequencer with per-slot start and end markers offer plenty of flexibility. Ambiences, drones, pads, leads and special FX instruments crafted from the raw recordings and a multi-effects rack with convolution reverb complete the library.
