A washing machine as a musical instrument, sampled as tuned and untuned percussion along with bowed and plucked sounds.

Laundronium reveals how much musical potential lies in an ordinary washing machine: the percussion instruments range from soft and gong-like through harsh, warbly, trashy, tight and muted to dreamy, bassy, warm and sweet. It was played with fingers and mallets, both tuned and untuned, and also includes bowed and plucked articulations. The Kontakt interface offers swell, attack, release, vibrato, filter, pitch, articulation switching and layering, plus an LFO, 12 filters, arpeggiator, key and scale lock and an FX rack with 18 modules and convolution reverb.
