A classic toy piano with metal tines, sampled in great detail, whose raw unpredictability makes it ideal for scoring animation and children’s music.

Each of the 25 keys was sampled with 8 round-robin variations and an average of 6 velocity layers. The small wooden body with metal tines acting as resonators gives it a clunky, reverberant character, and the rattle of the plastic keys when played hard is included as optional release samples. Beyond that, the instrument was beaten with sticks and mallets, dismantled, probed and strummed, yielding a variety of percussion sounds, effects and 20 ambiences. The Kontakt interface with LFO, 12 filters, arpeggiator, key and scale lock and an FX rack with convolution reverb offers plenty of room for sound shaping.
