Plucked steel cables from a fountain sanctuary in the middle of Hollywood, turned into an experimental string, percussion and ambient instrument.

In the middle of Hollywood, Soundiron came across a shady fountain sanctuary ringed by tightly strung steel cables. Each cable was struck with a heavy guitar pick and recorded on site, its bass-heavy, full resonance blending with the white noise of the fountains. Back in the studio, this produced the original plucked sounds as well as punchy leads, distorted guitar-like tones, undulating soundscapes, organ and e-piano-like sounds and thumping basses – ideal for chillwave, EDM, glitch, post-rock, soundtracks, downtempo, dub, ambient and sound design.
