A complete collection of virtual steel handpans: a classic D minor handpan and two unusual hybrids of handpan and tongue drum.

Soundiron recorded the instruments in partnership with instrument maker Grahm Doe of Hapi Drum. The traditional handpan has a dark, warm and mellow tone with a ghostly resonance rich in overtones, played with finger pads, fingertips, soft rubber mallets and jazz brushes. The Prototype fuses a tongue drum with a handpan resonator face and has a brash, plucky steel drum character with intense, chaotic overtones, while the Hybrid Handpan pairs handpan dimples on its face with matching tuned, playable tongues on its belly. The modular multi-layer interface lets you mix, layer and retune every sound freely.
