Soundiron Cathedral of Junk - Download
Experimental percussion from the Cathedral of Junk in Austin, Texas: a scrap-heap orchestra of found objects as playable multisampled instruments.
For over 20 years, Vince Hannemann has built a tower up to three stories tall in his Austin backyard from old TVs, car parts, machinery, appliances and countless other bits of scrap: the Cathedral of Junk. Soundiron struck the structure with drumsticks, picked a few dozen of the most musical objects and surfaces and turned them into precisely programmed, highly playable multisampled instruments. The palette ranges from old cymbals and refrigerators to saw blades and artificial legs. On top come 20 custom FX and ambient presets and an interface with LFO, filters, arpeggiator and effects rack.
