An experimental 14-string zither by instrument inventor Bart Hopkin, with multiple bridges dividing each string into three segments.

The two longer segments of each string sound in the lower octave and the third, half as long, an octave above; plucking one makes the others vibrate sympathetically, and together with the soundboard this creates a warm, woody tone with a natural, subtle chorusing. Every note was sampled open with its full sympathetic resonance and damped, the damped version sounding percussive and short but carried by the resonance of the undamped segments. Two stereo microphone positions, up to 8 round robins, 6 dynamic layers and plucks and glisses across four layers offer plenty of scope, complemented by FX presets and ambient sounds created from the source material.
