The retro sound of the rare Bontempi B4 Electronic Table Organ from the 1970s and early 1980s, turned into a versatile Kontakt instrument.

The organ, housed in a vivid orange plastic case, is deceptively simple: 25 keys and 8 chord buttons, with no stops or options. Soundiron recorded it through a stereo pair of low-noise Neumann TLM 103 microphones, with two round robins for sustained notes and four for staccatos on every key, the same for all eight chord buttons covering A#, C, F and G in major and minor, plus key and motor effects. The Octave knob doubles and triples the notes you play at different octaves, Glide adds portamento, and the LFO, 13 filter types and arpeggiator expand the sound-shaping options. A modular effects rack with 18 effects and 119 reverb impulse responses rounds out the instrument.
