The comprehensively sampled catalogue of UK percussionist David Oliver’s globe-spanning collection of rare concert drums and hand percussion, with 73 instruments.

Recorded at Whitehouse Studios in Somerset, Bell Music in London and David Oliver’s own Somerset studio, Rhythmic Origins captures 73 percussion instruments of all shapes and sizes with primary and effect articulations, from bass drums, calabash and box drums to large and small hand drums and metal, wood and tonal percussion. Close and room microphones can be blended freely, with additional positions for Bell Music’s giant 54-inch Verdi taiko drum, David’s custom gran casa and several African hand drums. The tonal and dynamic balance of every instrument has been carefully engineered for full-bodied bass, rich tonality and high-end clarity, and the library is the perfect companion to Rhythmic Odyssey, the loop and phrase library featuring many of the same instruments.
