The most extensive volume in the Rust series, with metallic percussion and melodic sounds from vintage farm machinery, a railroad caboose, a windmill and household objects.

For Relics, Soundiron recorded the collection of the East Contra Costa Historical Society’s agricultural museum in Knightsen, California, using large-diaphragm, mid-side and contact microphones in extreme detail. Ball, stick, felt and metal mallets were played on plows, harvesters, combines and tractors, a vintage railroad caboose, a 40-foot windmill and household objects made of brass, copper, steel, tin, bronze and iron. The results became tunable percussion kits and effect banks that can be played as full percussion ensembles or soloed as melodic instruments. The sounds range from delicate to brutal and from richly resonant to raw and gritty.
