The piano lives in the El Campanil Theatre, a resplendent vaudeville hall from the late 1920s with glorious acoustics. Played softly, it has a warm, hazy quality, while at full force it punches through with bombastic flair, supported by a sonorous low end. Four perspectives are available: the close Hammer position with a pair of Neumann TLM 107s, an overhead position 8 feet away with Neumann KM 183 omnis, the Hall position about 60 feet away with Neumann TLM103s in a wide AB array and the sound-designed Ghosts mix from nearly 120 feet away for slow, melancholic passages. 20 ambient pads and drones created from the source material complete the package.
