HALion combines FM, spectral, wavetable, virtual analogue and granular synthesis with a sample engine for large libraries, and comes with more than 35 GB of content, 3,700 presets and 15 instruments, including FM Lab and the guitar instrument Tales. The FM Zone, developed in cooperation with Yamaha, combines up to eight operators and, with the Algorithm Finder, covers everything from classic DX7 tones to contemporary FM sounds, while the in-house time-stretch and resynthesis algorithm keeps samples sounding natural even at extreme settings. Modulations are assigned with a click or by drag and drop, envelopes are drawn with brush, pen and eraser tools, and Decompose splits any sample into its tonal and noise components. More than 70 effects, wavetables with up to 1,024 waves and the Lua scripting language for building your own instruments with custom interfaces extend the possibilities even further.
