Amped Elektra is an electric piano for HALion, sampled from a fully restored Hohner Electra and reamped through three vintage tube amps – warm, funky and made for funk, (neo) soul and jazz.

Built in the ’70s, the Hohner Electra is sonically related to the Wurlitzer and Rhodes and was used by bands such as Led Zeppelin on their recordings. Its DI signal was recorded in one of Hamburg’s finest studios and also sent through three tube amps: the rare ’50s The Tower, plus an Ampeg V4 and a Fender Twin Reverb from the ’70s. You can blend the original signal freely with the amps, adjust the typical bark, the release and the pedal noise, and extend the range of the keys if required. Matching chords for every preset provide instant ideas for progressions via the chord pads, and the reverb uses custom-recorded impulse responses of springs, chambers and plates from classic units such as the Lexicon 224.
