Etude is a world-class Yamaha C3X grand piano for HALion, sampled in a recording space acoustically designed especially for playing and experiencing pianos.

Its sound is perfectly balanced, with delicate harmonic richness at the top end and deep, warm tones in the lower octaves. Four microphone positions in the mixer – Player above the hammers, Mid on the curved side of the rim, Tail at the tail end and Room in AB configuration – make Etude ideal for scoring as well as classical, jazz and pop. Sustain and sympathetic resonances can be adjusted individually, while adaptive release samples and piano noises add to a realistic playing experience. The Lehmann, Young 1, Young 2, EVBT and Stretch tuning systems change the tuning character, from stretch tuning to expressive temperaments.
