A real-time granular effect that freezes, texturises, slices or reorganises audio with up to 64 grains, triggered by transients, clocks or MIDI notes.

At the heart of Graindad is the Grain Engine: while audio is being recorded, it can be played back simultaneously via up to 64 grains, and 12 main parameters create effects such as looping, stuttering, time stretching, pitch shifting, reversing or harmonising. Recording runs in sync with the host clock, is triggered via MIDI or starts dynamically based on transients in the material. Alongside envelope, LFO and step sequencer, the Harvester modulates all 12 main controls at once through a visual interface, numerous randomisers add variation, and the Modmix control crossfades between the two modulation systems. Filters (low-pass, band-pass, band-reject, high-pass), HQ, spring and shimmer reverbs plus a delay with flanger and chorus modes complete the sound.
