Following ACE, Bazille is the second instrument from u-he’s Berlin Modular project and combines the two technologies that made digital synthesis affordable in the 1980s: FM and phase distortion. Its four oscillators with fractal resonance start at zero hertz and can therefore also serve as LFOs, joined by self-oscillating multimode filters, two mapping generators with up to 128 steps, four multiplex modules for mixing, crossfading and modulation, and a modulation sequencer that morphs between up to eight sequences. With delay, distortion, phaser and spring reverb plus the alternative GearPorn skin, Bazille is a synthesizer for anyone who wants to dive deep into patching.
