MELLOW 2 is a virtual double bassist that brings body, texture and a big bottom end to jazz, singer-songwriter, RnB and hip-hop productions.

At its heart is a meticulously recorded acoustic double bass played with soul and feel – smooth, elegant and with the odd noise here and there. In Player Mode you set the key and chords and MELLOW 2 plays from 60 styles and 1380 phrases, intelligently choosing suitable articulations; in Instrument Mode you play the whole fretboard yourself, including dead notes, full stops and slides. Microphones, pick position and mixer channel are adjustable, a real recorded room adds ambience, and vibrato, octave effects, dynamics and EQ complete the toolset.
