A highly accurate circuit simulation of a tube preamp with analogue EQ, driven gently for warmth or cranked for fat distortion.

Like its predecessor Tube Saturator Vintage, Tube Saturator 2 is based on circuit simulation: the tubes, resistors and capacitors are converted into a system of equations that is solved numerically to reproduce the sound of the real circuit. Instead of computing everything in real time, TS-2 uses large tables of pre-computed solutions, so the saturation section runs about seven times faster with even more accurate modelling. You can switch between 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes, place the three-band Baxandall EQ before or after saturation and switch saturation and EQ separately. A high-quality 2x oversampling mode attenuates aliased distortion harmonics, and the mix control blends the processed sound with the original.
