This plugin recreates three rare EMI microphones from the 1920s and 30s, built for British royalty – for vintage timbres and lo-fi effects.

EMI built these microphones for King George V, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth; after restoration they were used on the film “The King’s Speech” to record the orchestral sections and re-amp the dialogue. Abbey Road engineers then began re-amping guitars and synths through them for unique, crunchy filter-like qualities. Each mic offers Close, Natural and Ambient range positions, and the King George V model is a carbon mic. Follow the plugin with reverb for novel room and ambience effects in sound design and music production.
