This plugin models the entire vinyl process – from cutting the lacquer to pressing and turntable playback – for production, mixing and mastering.

Created in close collaboration with Abbey Road Studios, Abbey Road Vinyl ranges from a subtle vinyl touch for audiophiles to heavy crackle and turntable-stop effects. Choose between the fresh, punchy sound of the lacquer (acetate) and the final pressing, between Abbey Road’s mastering turntable and a DJ-style deck, and between three cartridges: moving magnet, moving coil and a basic DJ cartridge. Rumble, crackles, clicks, wow, flutter and hiss can be dialled in to taste, while the path through the EMI TG12410 mastering desk and an automatable tonearm – losing highs and adding distortion towards the inner grooves – add further realism.
