Grammy-winning mix engineer Andrew Scheps has mixed artists as diverse as Adele, Jay Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Metallica. Each control affects multiple parameters: Sub generates low-frequency harmonics that weren’t in the original track, so unlike EQ it can’t muddy the sound, while Air synthesises pure high-frequency harmonics for brightness that is never harsh. Thick uses midrange processing to add fullness and body, and Bite adds snap and energy to note attacks. Shape tone, energy and feel in seconds on individual tracks, buses or final masters.
