A model of the classic 1967 API 560 graphic equalizer for fast, natural-sounding tone shaping in the studio and live.

Its proportional-Q filters narrow as gain increases, boost and cut equally and add little colouration thanks to minimal phase shift – so even extreme settings sound clear rather than harsh or muddy. Ten octave-spaced bands from 31 Hz to 16 kHz make the API 560 ideal for overheads, piano, guitars and other complex sources. The Analog switch adds the original’s harmonic distortion and hiss when you want it. The plugin was developed in close collaboration with API.

• Designed in close collaboration with, and verified by, API
