Rather than having rigidly defined capabilities, the C4 adapts to your tracks: on drum loops and drum buses you can limit the kick, tighten the toms with expansion, compress the highs and energise the snare with upward expansion while also EQing the drums. The exclusive Range control defines the maximum amount of gain change, while Threshold sets where it starts. Bypass the dynamics and the C4 becomes a four-band EQ with variable band frequencies and crossover slopes; for release, choose a smooth vintage-style behaviour like optical compressors, an accelerating release or Auto-Release.
