L3 Multimaximizer merges five-band peak limiting, parametric EQ and linear-phase crossovers into one mastering chain.

Unlike conventional multiband limiters, Waves’ Peak Limiting Mixer technology treats the five bands as an integrated whole and distributes attenuation as needed – for level and clarity. Adaptive release algorithms and a choice of release profiles range from transparent to aggressive without pumping or breathing. Linear-phase crossovers provide freedom from phase distortion and a transparent high end, which is why engineers use the L3 as much for its EQ as for its dynamics, and band separation can be reduced all the way to a wideband limiter. The IDR section prepares digital releases with two dithering options, three noise-shaping algorithms and conversion to 16 to 24-bit resolution.
