PuigTec EQs models the Pultec EQP-1A and MEQ-5 passive equalizers from Jack Joseph Puig’s personal collection – for mixing and mastering.

Introduced over 50 years ago, the Pultec EQs are renowned for their sonic purity and gentle tone shaping; Waves modelled the two beautifully maintained, hand-crafted units belonging to the Grammy-winning producer (John Mayer, Lady Gaga, Rolling Stones) under his guidance. The EQP-1A offers 4 selectable low frequencies, 7 high frequencies with bandwidth control and 3 high-cut frequencies for fat, punchy bass and drums, while the famous Pultec trick of boosting and cutting the same frequency at once tightens the low end. The MEQ-5 shapes rich midrange tones for vocals, acoustic guitar and piano with three bands: low-mid boost, mid dip and high-mid boost.
