Renaissance Compressor revives the warmth of great vintage analog compressors with the transparency and extra features of modern software design.

R-Comp brings clarity and definition with a choice of classic opto or modern “electro” attack and release behaviour: a smooth, optical character for vocals and bass, or the modern VCA sound for tighter, faster compression. Ratios below 1:1 also turn it into an upward expander that emphasises the snap of percussion or accents acoustic guitar strums. Auto-release, soft knee, an Ultramaximizer-based limiter and dozens of presets by producers and engineers such as Michael Brauer, Greg Wells, Lu Diaz and Dave Pensado complete the package.

Features

• Warm opto or fast electro character
• Compression and upward expansion, both with soft knee
• Auto-release gives silky gain reduction, even when pushed
• Ultramaximizer-based limiter catches peaks
• Informative metering with limiting indicator
• Three skins customise the compressor’s look
