The SSL G-Equalizer models the rack-mounted version of SSL’s G 292 EQ with its “pink knob” – for EQ shaping with plenty of character.

The 292 was one of the last iterations of SSL’s famed EQ designs and is often the choice when engineers prioritise character and shape over detail – many add it further down the chain after the E-Channel’s EQ. The parametric stages offer up to ±20 dB of boost and cut and the shelving stages ±17 dB, while a slight pre-boost dip and pre-cut rise give warmer lows and clearer highs. HMFx3 and LMF÷3 buttons shift the centre frequencies with one click, high-pass and low-pass filters clean up, and proportional-Q design ensures smooth tonal shifts. The Analogue switch adds the modelled noise and harmonic distortion, or turn it off for pristine digital transparency.
