Maserati HMX by Tony Maserati brings new textures, ambience and imaging to keyboard instruments, from acoustic piano to polysynths.

MODAL mode widens the instrument, emphasises harmonics and attacks and adds ethereal ambience with spread, reverb and a subtle chorus effect. BOUNCE, by contrast, combines reverb and delay for energy and movement, with the delay set manually or synced to tempo to build trails that give a sense of space. Tony Maserati, who has worked with Beyoncé, Jason Mraz and David Bowie, suggests MODAL for a wide piano on a vocal demo and BOUNCE for a sensitive ballad or a funky full-band setting – and drums can benefit too.
