Torque retunes kicks, snares, toms or entire drum kits in the mix – with natural-sounding results and without smearing transients.

Regular pitch shifters smear transients and create artefacts; Torque instead uses Waves’ Organic ReSynthesis engine to change pitch and formants by up to ±1 octave while preserving the original attack, resonance and duration. Turn the big Torque control to tune the pitch, set the threshold with Thresh, adjust attack and release with Speed, and use Trim for a thicker or thinner sound. Focus helps you find each drum’s fundamental frequency range, supported by a visualiser. With zero latency, Torque can even tune drums mid-show, and automation creates glides, slides and talking-drum effects on congas, timbales or tambourine.
