Electric Grand 80 is a sampled CP-80, the electro-acoustic piano that defined the polished pop of the late 70s and early 80s.

The CP series was integral to the sound of artists such as Phil Collins, Elton John, ABBA, U2, Toto and Billy Joel, and made touring with a piano possible without hauling a grand. Its sound is more focused than an acoustic piano and more complex than tine-based electric pianos, so reverberant chords and shiny leads slide into mixes with ease. Mechanical noises, formant control, simulated sympathetic resonance and an effects section extend your tonal options.

Features

• Expertly sampled CP-80 with its extended low end
• Realistic mechanical sounds from key-up and sustain pedal
• Bass, mid and treble controls, plus formant control from mellow to brash
• Sustain simulates the sympathetic resonance of unplayed strings
• Tremolo, autopan, chorus, phaser and reverb
• Velocity response with variable curve, plus limiting and compression
